I cheated
This is all so new to me and I wanted to be strong, but I don't think it's working. I had my first iui w/ clomid back to back earlier this month. I go in on Wednesday for a blood test. Do I still go if I get AF? I don't feel any different symptoms. I thought that for the 25th I might be able to add an extra gift to D's pile. I got up early and did an HPT (which I told him I wouldn't once we left the dr's office after the back to back iui) I couldn't resist. BFN. I kind of hinted over the wknd that I don't think I'm preg because nothing is different. He quickly dismissed it and said not to think negative. Well, this morning as soon as he left for football I went and grabbed another HPT and BFN. I mean, do I really need to wait until Wednesday? I know I am impatient but this is more of an emotional roller coaster than I can take. It's been almost 3 years and I don't know why I thought our 1st round at iui would work. The post cramping was so painful that I don't want to try it again. I just needed to vent. Thanks ladies. It's not easy over the holiday season and insensitive ppl still asking what we are waiting for. I just want to collect all the gallons of tears I've ever shed on this situation and dump it on them.

It stinks.
It does get easier.
With IUIs, I always just waited until my POD 16 to do a HPT or until I got AF and never went in for a beta.

Ugh, it is so hard to wait, but I have found, over the years, that it is just easier to wait for a missed AF or the beta. Seeing those BFNs and then thinking into every reason why it could be a false BFN and waiting to test again is too emotional!
You'll get there...just hang in and don't pay attention to all of those annoying people! They just don't understand and never will..

I too was greatly disappointed after round #1 w/ iui, but we got lucky with round #2 and now I am due in July with twins, hang in there and never give up!!

ITA. After a year and a half of HPTs and many BFNs (naturally TTC and IVF/FET), I have decided to wait for Beta day or AF. Having the RE tell me can't possibly be worse than seeing it on a HPT.
