Meatballs and Sausage in Sauce - How to Store?
I'm making a pot of sauce with sausage and meatballs for Christmas (to be made Wednesday I believe, possibly Thursday. I usually cook the sausage and meatballs and then put them in the crockpot in the sauce and let it cook for 5 or 6 hours. How should I store it for Christmas Day? Should I just leave the meat in the sauce and stick it in the fridge? Should I separate it? Should I not put the meat in the sauce and wait until Christmas Day to do that?

I don't make meat sauce, but when my mom does, and she does it the day before, she just puts the whole pot with the meat in the fridge overnight. She's done it for years and it's never been a problem.
Your meat will be cooked already, right??

I don't make meat sauce, but when my mom does, and she does it the day before, she just puts the whole pot with the meat in the fridge overnight. She's done it for years and it's never been a problem.

same for me!
same here! I am making my sauce for Christmas Day tomorrow and I am putting in meatballs, pork, beef and sausage and the whole pot will go right in the fridge!
