cut on tip of nose

i just noticed that Hershey has a scratch on the very tip of his nose.... very close to his nostril... im pretty sure its from the cat lol

its not at all serious, but i do want to put neosporin (sp?) on it... im just afraid that he will lick it off since he tends to lick his mouth/nose area sometimes... should i not put it on? will it be bad if he does lick it off?

I honestly don't know if it will be bad for him but are you sure his tongue reaches to the cut? Brinkley has a very short tongue, it barely comes out of his mouth when he's panting, and he can't reach the top side of his nose. I know this because he got a pimple there once and I actually swabbed it with a Stridex pad daily!

You could test it by putting a dab of peanut butter along the same height as the cut... Just make sure you don't get it IN the cut!

What if you put the neosporin on a napkin and wipe it onto the cut?

He may not even need it. I haven't read anything about how the flesh of the nose heals, sorry! Good luck, I hope he's better soon!

LOL im pretty sure he can reach the area of the scratch with his tonge but i've never taken note haha

i think im just going to leave it alone... it doesnt seem to be bothering him
