how much do you feed your cat?
Either our cat is preggers or fat. She cries for food in the AM and I put about 1/2 cup of dry then in the evening she does the same and i do the same. So 1 cup which i think is a lot but she is starving.
We haven't taken her to the vet yet because DH wants to see if she belongs to anyone - like no one notices that their cat is missing 90% of the time for two weeks now. I keep saying she is a stray - someone dumped her so lets take her in already.
Her stomach is big but she doesn't look fat anywhere else, i saw a nipple finally (very fuzzy stomach) and she will not allow you to go near her stomach under any circumstances.
So how much do you feed your cat? She is going out less and staying in more but she does roam around about an hour to two hours a day at least.

She could be pregnant, but she could also be wormy. Certain worms can cause a pot-bellied appearance.
Either way, sounds like a trip to the vet is in order.
I understand that your DH wants to make sure the cat doesn't belong to anyone, but what is he doing to find out? Did you contact shelters and local vets? Post signs? Even if you are undecided, I'd probably take her to the vet anyway -- it will also help get the word out.
ETA -- the fact that you can't get near her stomach may or may not indicate that her stomach is uncomfortable. Many cats are protective of their bellies instinctively.

ah i agree. i think he is just worried about getting her in her cage with out getting his eyes clawed out.
i will make the appointment then he will be forced.

Get a carrier that has a TOP opening, so you don't have to push her through the "front" door. (Or put the carrier on its end, so the "front" door is on top.
Wrap the kitty in a towel and pick her up that way to place her in the carrier from the top.

i think the cage we got is too small for her but it says for cats. I am going to try meanwhile how much do you feed your cats?

I give him a handfull morning and night, but if his bowl is empty he flips out and does the Im going to keep squatting at you till you get up dance..
I would take her to the vet...
