PLEASE HELP! I think I ruined my cookies

I am going to a cookie swap tomorrow and just finished my cookies. They are thumbprint cookies with a butter rum filling to simulate eggnog. They taste very good, but the rum flavor seems a bit strong. I then double checked the recipe. I swapped out rum extract for rum and flipped the measurements. I used 5X the amount of extract in the icing. It doesn't taste terrible just, strong.

Should I try to scrape out the icing and redo?

I think they will be ok. It is going to take so much time to scoop them out.
