What is a good dessert to celebrate Hanukkah?
My friend wants to bring a dessert over to a family tonight. She has no idea what a good dessert idea for Hanukkah is? Can anyone suggest something? Thank you so much!

jelly donuts
That was what I wanted to say. Traditionally one eats fried food i.e. latkies or as my neighbor told me yesterday, "oh hashbrowns" when I explained what they were.

Re: What is a good dessert to celebrate Hanukkah?
your friend could really bring anything. chanukah is not like passover where all the food has to be very holiday specific.
but b/c of the miracle of the oil, fried foods are the only "requirement" (latkes--fried potato pancakes and/or soufganyot--jelly donuts)
we did this really cute food-art project w/ the nursery school this week- edible dreidls: pretzel stick, marshmallow, frosting and a hersey kiss. it was very cute and the kids (and parents) enjoyed them.
stick the pretzel stick into the marshmallow, spread some frosting on the opposite end of the marshmallow and then stick the hershey kiss onto the frosting (w/ the pointy side down) to make an edible spinning top!
