Frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!
SO DH and I decided to go ahead with IVF yesterday and I called the Dr to let him know. We made this decision with the understanding that we could start as soon as I got a bleed from Provera which was expected within the week. So I never heard back from teh doctor yesterday and arond 5, I get AF. So I called again this morning and they precede to tell me they are not sure if I can start now, have to wait for the dr. So the dr. calls me at 4:30 and says it is fine to start BCP but we need to get approval from insurance first. So now nothing is in motion to get the approval - I have to call the office first thing in the morning - and I have until Tuesday to get the approval or I have to wait a cycle. If I knew this, I would have just done the injectibles again in between as to not mis a cycle. I am so aggravated and frustrated. To think insurance - which I know is good and will approve - is the reason I am being delayed. I just don't understand why I can't start the pill and in the meantime the insurance will get worked out. UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you want to sign a waiver saying if the insurance doesn't approve it you will pay it?
That's all the doc wants is to get paid.

I was wondering if that was an option. I would totally do that. Will ask about it tomorrow. Thanks!

Ask if you can take BCPs a little longer while getting everything straightened out. I was on BCPs for 10 days, took 3 days off, then started stimming. During those 10 days on BCPs I had my water sono, mock transfer, attended injection class, got everything OKed by insurance, had meds ordered and delivered, and completed any remaining tests.

I am supposed to be on the BCP for 21 days - I would think that would be plenty time to get it straightened out but apparently you are not allowed to start the pill without approval, which makes no sense. If you started the pill then didnt get approval then why wouldnt you just stop the cycle?! This is their policy though. It is totally stressing me out.

Approval for me took a very short time... but there is a SLEW of stuff you have to get in order before IVF... so taking a cycle "off" may not be a bad idea.

Thanks everyone for not only reading my long vent but also replying. I am feeling some hope. I know there are alot of test you have to get before but it is a good time because both my husband and I have off during the next few weeks. I will call tomorrow and see what happens!
