E-ring Question?
When travelling abroad do you wear your e-ring? DH is against me wearing it when we travel outside of the US. So I was curious what you all do?

Re: E-ring Question?
I was worried about wearing mine on my HM and it was probably safer there then wearing it places I work at.
But I guess it really depends on where you are traveling

Always. Third world countries. Beach vacations. Cities including my own (NYC). Never ever had an issue.

Re: E-ring Question?
I always wear my e-ring on vacation. The only place I didn't was my honeymoon - I thought wearing a diamond in Africa would be in poor choice. I would say unless you are traveling to an extrememly poor nation, one where there are known acts of violence on tourists, you are fine.

On our honeymoon my DH would not let me take it
This time when we go to Italy I am taking it...well maybe just the band now that I think of it

Re: E-ring Question?
Always -- e-ring & wedding band.
People in other nations wear jewelry just as much, if not more, than we do...so I see nothing wrong with wearing my rings.
The sizable chunks of ice I saw on women in Paris made me droooooool.
I figure I could lose my ring in either Long Island or Australia, or anywhere in between, it won't matter where you are, or the chances increase in other places just cause you're a tourist. (With the exception of certain war torn countries that are dangerous no matter who you are, which I assume you wouldn't be visiting.)
I say wear it and have fun!

Re: E-ring Question?
The one and only time I left my e-ring home was when I went somewhere that I'd been strongly warned about pickpockets. And I'm not at all convinced that it was a necessary precaution. I've worn both my rings on every other vacation within the U.S. and abroad.

Re: E-ring Question?
I have a plain wedding band I wear when traveling. One less thing to worry about when at the beach, in the water, etc.

Re: E-ring Question?
I don't because it's a little loose (not enough to have it sized & it's an eternity band so it would be difficult to size) and we go surfing and diving on our trips and I worry it would slip off.

Re: E-ring Question?
I feel like this question comes up once a month
Nope, never. Yes we have insurance, yes the chance of something happening to it is slim... but I don't want to waste a huge portion of my vacation dealing with foreign policemen trying to get a report about a missing ring.. or waste time being upset that I damaged it or lost it.
Not worth it. It stays home and I wear my wedding band (which was relatively inexpensive)

Re: E-ring Question?
I live abroad, so yes.
It depends on the country/city we travel to. I don't want to attract any unnecessary attention, so I don't wear it if we are going to a questionable part of a city.
Where I live, Sydney, I take it off when I know I am going to go on a train late at night (I live about an hour from the centre of the city) or I go to certain parts of the city. I have heard of too many stories of muggings here and unfortunately it happens quite a bit.
We are moving in three weeks to Germany and I am not sure how often I will be wearing my e-ring. They don't do e-rings there.

Re: E-ring Question?
My husband and I have this debate every time we leave the country! Basically it usually works out like this, I will wear it if we are going to a resort area where we're basically always on the property (and I'll only take it off if we're doing watersports or the like). When we go to Europe I do not bring it because my ring is obnoxious by European standards and I don't want to attract unnecessary attention.
