"Baker's Gift Basket"

I'm making up a basket of baking goodies for my sister's Xmas gift. So far I have in it:

Measuring spoons
Measuring cup
Cupcake decorating kit (bags and tips)
Bucket of cookie cutters
Giant cupcake cake pan

What else would you include?

Re: "Baker's Gift Basket"

Maybe print a really nice copy of your favorite cookie or bread recipe and include it with the dry ingredients to make it - and a sample of the finished product? For example - your 'famous persimmon cookies' - you could print the recipe, put it in a binder with blank pages for her to fill in - and include a little tin of the cookies that you made.. plus some persimmons, flour, etc..

ETA: Whisks, Pastry cutters, tart pans and springform pans are good too.

And if you are looking for a fantastic baking cookbook: Rosie's Bakery All-Butter, Fresh Cream, Sugar-Packed, No-Holds-Barred Baking Book is awesome.

You have to try it! I use it in panna cotta, custards, creme brulee and ice creams a LOT. It really offers an extra intensity of flavor. The problem is that it is $$$$!

Or put the bean in a jar of sugar!!!

Also, to OP, parchment paper.

Re: "Baker's Gift Basket"

If the person is already a baker, then they most likely already have measuring spoons and cups. Instead I would get them:

silpat
wisk
olive wood spoons
silicone muffin cups
large glass mixing bowl
I completely agree with the good vanilla statement. It makes a huge difference in baking.
microplane grater

a coworker of mine made something similar for me for christmas last year. She also included spatulas (like the kind you spread the icing with), little magnetic measurement guides and small christmas recipe books
