We have an angel now, DH gave it to me for christmas last year (it was our first married christmas and our first year with a big tree)  To me it's important to have the angel b/c it reminds me of the religious aspects of the season. Probably another inbred message from my mom's catholic school upbringing, but that's how it is I guess haha 
DH always had an angel growing up too, so we have no disagreement there!

We have the Blessed Mother - something that was passed down to us from DH's family.
Growing up, my parents always had an angel.
