Is ovulation checked at CD21 bloodwork?

I have PCOS, however since having my DD, my cycles have seemed to regulate oddly enough, , except that I seem to spot for a week or so leading up to AF ...Its still not your normal 28 day cycle but compared to getting AF once every 3 months, its a big improvement...


Anyway - I had gone for my annual at the Gyn and it was 4 days before AF showed and he wanted to check to see if I had ovulated by checking my progesterone , so he did b/w....

When they called with my blood results for a different test, I inquired about the progesterone and he wasn't in, so the nurse said I should come back on day 21 of my cycle so they could re-check it ...

I don't recall my RE ever checking for ovulation on day 21 ....

Any ideas ????

Yep my reg OBGYN would check for ovulation on day 21 all the time.

My RE didnt bc I went straight to IVF.

Apparently there is a spike in progesterone after you ovulate that they can detect. since most people ovulte around day 14, they check for the spike at day 21.

they check for your progesterone at cd 21 but thats good only if u have a typical textbook 28 day cycle and u ovulate on cd 14.

I had the bloodwork done at day 21 and when it came back they rechecked it at day 28 and I still didn't ovulate
