Need quick cheesecake help

I want to bring a cheesecake to my brother's tomorrow. My question is: once it is done, how do I get the springform bottom off so I can put it on a cake plate to bring with me?

Re: Need quick cheesecake help

There should be a buckle on the side of the pan - open that up, lift off and then you should be able to get the bottom out... Does that make sense?

I would leave it on until you get there. Transporting it will be so much easier.

Some have a buckle to release it. Some just slide up or down. Depending on the recipe you may be able to slide a knife around the edge to seperate it but usually there is enough butter in the crust to make it just slide off.

No, I know how to get the sides off the springform pan, but I want to get the BOTTOM off, so the metal base is not on my crystal cakeplate -- it will just slide all over the place. I want just the cake on the plate.
