NEED QUICK HELP - Kitten related

DH & I were supposed to get a kitten today. He got a call from his friend that there is a "problem" as they cannot "catch" the cat.

I was under the belief that this was a 12 week old INDOOR only kitten. The kitten has NOT had any shots.

Now I'm afraid to bring it home with my almost 2 year old, when I can't get it to the vet for shots for 2-5 days (considering Thursday is a holiday, I don't really know when I can get it to a vet AT ALL).

I'm I being crazy?????

Re: NEED QUICK HELP - Kitten related

I wouldn't bring an outdoor cat into the house w/out it's shots.
And a 12 week old "kitten" that has been outside is pretty much a cat at this point.
In all honesty, you may have to rethink how you are going to deal with homing the kitten in general. Since it's hard to catch and used to being outdoors, you may have to let it be an indoor/outdoor cat or attempt to retrain it to stay indoors.

Are you sure they didn't mean "catch" the cat inside the house?
We were supposed to bring all 3 of our cats to the vet today but it wound up being only of two of them because we couldn't get the third one into the carrier.

If the cat is an outdoor cat, wait until you can get to the vet, and bring it for shots. I wouldn't be to worried otherwise, the cat will most likely adapt pretty quickly to being an indoor cat.
