Tuboplasty? UPDATE
Has anyone had this done? My RE is recommending it for me because my HSG was inconclusive for my left tube. Could be blocked or could just be spasms. I'm not entirely sure what to expect. I am so nervous. The HSG was pretty painful for me
Update: After learning more about it, I decided to move forward with the tuboplasty. The doctor did a repeat HSG and it showed my left tube was in fact blocked where it meets the uterus. He was able to successfully remove the blockage, repeated the dye test and both tubes are now clear. I was at the hospital but it was all done as out patient. I wasn't put under anesthesia but given antibiotics and pain medicine via IV. It was pretty quick and not too painful. There is a 60-80% chance that it will stay open because I have no real medical history to show otherwise. I decided to move forward with the procedure to increase my chances of getting PG through IUI. Just wanted to give an update on me in case anyone considers having this procedure.

Re: Tuboplasty?
Sorry... I agree with a second opinion (maybe by another RE).

Re: Tuboplasty?
Hi, my first HSG showed my right tube being blocked. I actually got pregnant right after that, from my right side (unfortunately m/c at 5w4d, due to bad eggs). Right after that I started with an RE. No one ever seemed worried about one tube being blocked, because like you say they also think its a spasm (I'm now with my 3rd RE). No one ever suggested a tuboplasty. I did end up with Laproscopy and hysterscopy surgery to look at my uterus. And they found during that, that my tubes were fine. My 2nd HSG (2 years later) showed both tubes fine.
Sorry so long but just wanted to share my experience. I think a consultation with another RE might be in order. So, I agree with PP.
And truthfully as long as one tube is open, then you can do IUI's (if you respond good on that open side). And if you have to eventually move on to IVF, your tubes have no role in that procedure. Its basically bypassed straight from ovaries back into uterus.
