What would you do?
I'm not there yet, but the thought has crossed my mind that when I get BFP... I plan to wait a while to share the news with others, but what if people start to ask or notice before you're ready to share...would you lie and say not you're not pregnant or tell them the truth at the risk of it being revealed to others?

Re: What would you do?
When I was pregnant with my son we planned to wait, however I started having some issues with spotting. At a certain point I just HAD to tell my mother. It kind of s*cked because I was crying thinking that I was going to have a MC when I told her the news but she was still pretty positive and excited about it. Because we told my mom my husband thought it would be unfair for his parents not to know so we ended up telling them and our siblings. We were still going to wait a little to tell people but then I had a college reunion and I knew my friends would know anyway once they saw that I wasn't drinking so we just told people! We really had every intention of keeping the news to ourselves for a while but it just didn't work out that way.... This time around, I will tell all of the people who have helped me throughout this IVF process but I will try to keep it to myself with anyone else.

Re: What would you do?
I would wait until the first trimester is over. You will not be showing till week 16 or later anyway.

Re: What would you do?
We told our immediate families (parents & siblings) and that was it. I went to a bar/restaurant 2 weeks after my BFP and everyone was asking me why I wasn't drinking and if I was pregnant. I told them I was on antibiotics for a bad sinus infection so I couldn't drink because it would make me violently ill. No one questioned it!

I've heard this LOTS of times because I'm crazy & watch who drinks & who doesn't. When people tell me they're on antibiotics: I assume they are pregnant.
It's a GREAT excuse! I'm totally going to use it.
