Can I ask, did it bother you to have people running all around you? Usually I feel odd having people run behind me, like I worry I'm going too slow and feel stressed about going faster. I know that is the point of a race, but is it stressful at all, or just fun?

I don't find it stressful running with people, actually I think having all those people around makes it more fun & gives you more energy. What I do is I stay to the right as much as possible so I don't feel like I'm slowing people down, and I try not to let it bother me or make me nervous when people pass me by. I just think to myself, well they're passing me now, but I'll pass them later Have fun!! The high is addictive!!!

i had one of the smallest dogs there so we were one of the last ones to finish... i definitely did have twinges of feeling embarrassed at times for being so slow but when my mind went there i made an effort to turn it around and remind myself why i did this in the first place... to have fun! i was running with a girlfriend and her two dogs also and even though that competitive side came out every once and awhile i still finished with a smile on my face and can't wait to do it again! it was both motivating and frustrating because it kept me wanting to run faster but i'm just not at the level of some of these faster runners. the winner did 7.5 min miles! the experience was nothing short of amazing and i already got back out there today to train for my next one next month!
