IUI Problem
So its CD20.. went for a sono and blood today... Had one follie at 16mm... they called me today and said that they detected an LH surge in my blood and to take my Ovidril tonight and IUI tomorrow a.m.
Here's my issue. There is NO WAY I can go tomorrow for an IUI.. I have parent-teacher conferences tomorrow and can not take time off for IUI. They still are going to do IUI on Wednesday, but do you think its worthless???
Also, if my follie is only 16mm anyway, is it too small to be a good one?
Im so upset and frustrated. Out of all the days for my to get and IUI... it is the one day I can not go!
I will probably O tomorrow and Wednesdays IUI will mean nothing

Re: IUI Problem
I don't think it will be a waste at all. Once you surge I think you have a few days. Would you consider going to work late? My IUIs are always in the morning so I usually just go in late to work (I work in a school also). Either way, definitely BD tomorrow if you can't do the IUI. My RE does the IUI the morning after the trigger and the following day (which will be the day you are doing it). Although 16mm is still small, by the time you actually ovulate it should be matured. Hope this made sense, I feel like I am rambling. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: IUI Problem
I would normally go to work late... but I work an hour away from my RE and I have to be at work at 815... first conference at 830. The earliest they would take me is 8.
I know I can still BD... but I feel like that hasnt worked in a year, so why would it work now

Re: IUI Problem
I agree it's not a waste at all.. last month I went two days in a row and did my 2nd IUI in the afternoon? Is there anyway they can take you later in the day? I would def go Wed I may not BD at home before only because you want to store up the sperm a bit.. that's what the nurse told me last time. Good Luck!

Ugh! I know how disappointing this must be.... On the bright side - I guess - IUIs don't really increase your chances all that much more than BDing AND the IUI the following day will definitely help out. Try not to get too discouraged!!!!!
