Foodsaver or Seal a Meal? Anyone have one?
I am considering getting one and was pricing them? The basic FS was about $30 more than the basic SAM - anyone know what the differences are? I don't want to just assume the more expensive one is better but don't want to overpay either. Also, if you have either, do you think it works great and protects food better in the freezer.
TIA

I don't know what we have ... I think it's a Sears branded (so Kenmore I guess) one.
I've had others in the past and think they all work about the same (I actually remember when my mom had one that didn't even vacuum the air, it just sealed!).
I've also found the Ziploc vacuum sealer bags that you manually suck the air out of work pretty darn good.

I just use the Ziploc food saver bags and the little hand held gizmo that cost me something like 7 bucks.
