Re: FSH and Hot flashes

How high is it? Have you been diagnosed with POV?

Re: FSH and Hot flashes

Thank you so much for replying, my FSH level is 61. What is POV? I'm planning to go to a fertility doctor. I've only gone to my gyn and regular doc. All they say is that i am experiencing perimenapause. They told me once i get my period they are going to draw some blood. It's been 2 months that I have been waiting for my menstrual to come down and nothing. Chat Icon

Re: FSH and Hot flashes

Hi - I had a high FSH result a year ago. I have been seeing an acupuncturist and continued with that. Wheat grass is supposed to help. I substituted with a green formula instead.
Other things I've been trying: green tea, white tea, yoga, crossing fingers, cutting down on caffeine and reducing the amount of processed foods in my diet.

I don't know yet if any of this has helped. But I did find a new RE who was ok working with someone with a high FSH (mine was 29).

I would definitely recommend finding an RE and talking to him/her and getting all the tests done.

Good luck! Chat Icon

Hi, Thank you for your advice, I definitely look into an acupuncturist and RE. I have my first Yoga class today and acupuncture appt on Saturday. My fiancé also wants me to see an herbalist. So let’s see how everything goes. Thank you again. Good Luck to you. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: FSH and Hot flashes

Sounds like me 16 months ago. There are a lot of holistic treatments and such that people try and use. Some more successful than otherse. Seeing and RE is very important at this stage. Hopefully you can get started on diagnosing the problem and working towards "fixing it". I did a lot of research when I first started having my problems prior to a diagnosis. It was very helpful in being emotionally prepared for anything. I dont know if you might consider that.

Good luck to you. If you need anything, please dont hesitate.

PS...my FSH was 71 when I was diagnosed last year. I was experiencing hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats, and I was completely emotional. I also did not menstrate for MONTHS (i just had my first visit from AF in 16 months). I was diagnosed with POF or Pre Ovarian Failure. So if you have any questions once you have more information, I am full of information.

Re: FSH and Hot flashes

There is a Dr called Randine Lewis. She is out of TX but she wrote a number of books. She is an OB/GYN as well as a Traditional Chinese medicine Dr. She has a 3 month plan to lower fsh. I would also look into acupuncture. Something in your body is out of whack. Have you had your thyroid checked? Good luck. Let me know if you need any helpChat Icon
