I almost had a coronary when I receive an $8000 bill for DH's ICSI that I did not EXPECT.
Thank gosh my mom did medical billing. I called her and I explained what the bill said, and that the claim was declined, blah, blah, blah.... out of her beautiful mouth comes, "Did you get an authorization number before the procedure wasdone?" I practically screamed "YES" in her poor ear. Crisis averted..... they authorized, now they need to fix their billing.
To think I almost took the day off to handle what I thought would be long phone calls to rectify it. And you know, do I really need to see such a scary bill when I just had IVF #1 fail? Really?

Ugh! None of us should be going through the stress of insurance companies, bills, etc, while we are dealing with the emotional stress of IF.
I am sorry you had to go through that stress...again! But, I am glad it all worked out quickly!

Just to clarify...was that $8000 for IVF w/ ICSI. ICSI should be $2,500 max for OOP.
Glad it was a billing error. You really have to fight with Insurance and most ppl you get on the phone don't know a thing about IF insurance.

It was just DH's procedures. That was the total. They fixed the problem today while I was at work. Thank god!
