Male Infertility Question
Hi I am new here with a question. I lurk on this board a lot but it seem now we are finally going to get into the nitty gritty of IVF. My husband has zero sperm motility. A few weeks back he had surgery (TESA) where they were able to retrieve nine vials of sperm which they were able to find moving sperm and a good number of them. They have been frozen. He went again today to see if after having the surgery anything has changed with his sperm and it hasn’t. I was wondering if anyone had achieved a pregnancy with this situation. Our doctor said our next step will be IVF using the sperm from the vials they have frozen. Was hoping someone might have some words of wisdom, advice or positive feedback. Thank you and wish you all sticky vibes and prayers.

Re: Male Infertility Question
I don't have any advice as far as that goes......but what about supplements to increase his count?
FertilAid for Men I heard is very good for count and motility. It's a vitamin only sold online.
It's worth a shot...........GL!

Re: Male Infertility Question
I just posted this on your pregnancy board post, but just in case you didn't see it, I'll post it here to. Good luck!
I didn't go through this exactly, however I did become pregnant with my DH's frozen sperm. He became suddenly ill last year and had to have chemo. He was told that the chemo would permanently kill his sperm count so before chemo, we were able to freeze 15 vials. Each vial contains a very small amount of sperm because it is divided so many times. The actual sperm count is good, not great and because we have a limited amount, my RE didn't want to use more than one vial for each IUI attempt. She only recommended doing IUI 3 times before moving on to IVF because of the limited supply/quality. My first IUI was a failure and I was really upset and discouraged. All I kept thinking was, it's hard enough for a woman to become pregnant with a healthy mans sperm, how am I going to get pregnant with less than 5% of the normal amount of motile sperm? Tried again the next month and it worked! Stay positive, it will work for you. All it takes is one good sperm!

Re: Male Infertility Question
I did not get pregnant with on our first IVF cycle. However, I had 7 fertlized embies.... so his sperm did their job! Four made it to freeze to.
