Re: getting a kitty!!!
My cats are still under 1 year old so they get Purina Kitten Chow. Make sure that whichever food you chose, you get a Kitten Formula if the cats are under 1 year old. They need the extra fat and protein etc while they are growing. When we got them from the rescue they were eating Eukunaba Kitten food- all dry- and we got a free bag of it with the adoption But it is SOOOO expensive so we switched them. We havne't given them any wet food yet- I just don't want them to get too used to wet food all the time. When they are a bit older, we will give them some wet food here and there. However, my last cat got wet food every day from day 1 and she got VERY spoiled by it.
In terms of liter- I have tried almost all the clumping brands- and I have to say- the one I like best- that actually clumps the hardest and is easiest to scoop is the BJ's brand. It's so cheap and honestly I love it. But you can try any clumping liter you find in the store and see what you think.
Also, as a PSA- Petco tends to have the HIGHEST prices on everything. I am talking like MUCH MUCH higher than the supermarket or Target etc... so I would avoid buying food and liter there unless you are in a pinch!
Good luck- can't wait to see pics!

I have never fed my cats the expensive stuff- and they have always been fine, healthy and never had ANY issues... you don't need to go broke...They will be fine!
