what kind of shower curtain do you have?
right now we have a plastic shower liner and a cream fabric curtain on the outside of the tub. I'm thinking of going down to one curtain and maybe a plastic one at that, but I dont know how it will look. the fabric one has gotten kinda mildewy form leaving towels hanging over the curtain rod. can you share pics?

I have a white fabric liner and a white fabric curtain. I throw them in the washer/dryer when they get dirty. I don't even have to iron them, just take them out and hang them right away after they finish drying. So easy.

i have one vinyl liner (i never even knew that they made a fabric liner) and a whole slew of shower curtains. i replace the vinyl liner with ones from teh dollar store (or as cheap as i can otherwise find) and wash all my shower curtains.
works like a charm.
i just did it today actually. the one i have up is super wrinkled, but figured the steam from the showers will work out the wrinkles.
yup... i can be lazy.

Yes we have a clear liner.
It has been a year though...and the bottom isn't in the best condition even with the liner so I need to get a new one soon.

Do you know it has never crossed my mind to wash the shower curtain

I actually wash the liner, too, with detergant and bleach. Good as new!

I use a fabric liner on the inside and just wash it when it looks like it needs it. I also don't hang the towels over the shower curtain - I move the shower curtain and place the towel over the actual rod, so I don't have that mildew problem that you're having.

I have a fabric curtain with a plastic liner. When the liner gets cruddy I toss it and use a new one from the dollar store. I wash the curtain once a month or so, but don't have the mildew problem you mentioned.

Not lazy........SMART...... I do the same thing....lol... It's worth $1 for me to not have to scrub that thing.........

On our claw-footed tub I have a fabric liner and lace shower curtains. It's so easy to throw them in the washing machine with bleach and I partially dry them in the dryer so they don't get too wrinkled.

I have a fabric curtain in both bathrooms, one has a plastic/vinyl liner and the other has a fabric liner.
i like the look of the fabric liner better, but IMO the vinyl liner keeps the water in way better.
