beginning my IUI journey tomorrow
So I go (CD3) for a sono and blood tomorrow. Im doing 50mg of Clomid days 3-7. They are going to monitor me then give me a shot (Orvadril or something like that..cant remember the exact name) when my follie is about 20mm and my lining is right. Then I do my first IUI.... They will do back-to-backs...Im nervous and excited. Im hoping it works.
Does anyone know the success rate for IUI for people with unexplained fertility?? They haven't found anything wrong with either of us other than I O on the later side (CD21ish).

I've had irregular cycles for years. I can go months with no AF. I was basically classified as "unexplained infertility" since they didn't really find anything wrong with me. In Sept. 2007 I went to the RE and they put me on Metformin to try and regulate my cycles and get me to ovulate and Provera to bring on AF every month. I ovulated on my own in Dec. (no Clomid or anything), had one follie (20mm), took the trigger shot, had 1 IUI and got pregnant. 9 months later I had her!

So based on my experience I would say you had a good chance of conceiving with an IUI. Lots of luck. FYI - The IUI itself is quick and painless so don't even stress about it!! Good luck!

these are the stats me RE gave us for unexplained IF:
With Unexplained IF, here’s our options, pregnancy rate, and multiples:
-DO NOTHING: 2%, 1/90
-CLOMID: 5%, 1/10
-CLOMID + IUI: 10-12%, 1/10
-INJECTIONS + IUI: 20-25%, ¼ to 5
-IVF: 50-60%, 1/3 to 4

We have unexplained infertility and got pregnant on our second IUI with Clomid. Good luck!!!!!!!

My Dr told me it is really hard to put number on the success rate. He said if he had to say about 15%-20%.

We had unexplained infertility and I got pregnant on my first IUI with clomid!!!! I hope this is it for you!!!!

Thanks everyone!! I just went to the pharmacy and had all my prescriptions filled. Having alittle trouble getting the ovidril. Need to call a number and they have to mail it to me (????). Didnt expect that!
Went for my CD3 check and she says everything looks great! Im excited. I hope it works!
