need food suggestions
for my Dad, he has throat cancer and his treatment is starting to cause him a lot of discomfort, in addition he really can't wear his lower denture because his jaw is too sore. So between the two things he's having a very hard time eating. I want to make some really soft food and bring it to his house. I'm drawing blanks on stuff that is really soft. Also my dad is a TOTAL food snob, he usually eats out at very high end places 5-6 times a week so it makes it even more challenging. I'm bringing him fresh chicken eggs so he can make them softboiled or whatever and I'm bringing homemade ice cream. Any other suggestions would be GREAT!

Cous cous? I have had some tooth surgery and cous cous really helped my pain. I had it with veggies and I just cooked them more.
Flan? Souffles? Soup?

Custards are great and have that 'high end' feel. You can use a vanilla custard as a base for a creme brulee or a flan or even a banana cream pie. Chocolate Mousse and maybe a nice key lime pie are also good desserts. You can do a yogurt parfait with some soft or pureed berries and greek yogurt as a breakfast.
Cream of tomato soup, butternut squash soup and maybe a nice beer cheese soup as part of a German menu are all nice and soothing without too many hard to swallow bumps and lumps.
Soft pastas could be nice too.. maybe cooked a little more than al dente for him? Stuffed shells or ravioli where the filling is soft.
Mashed turnips?
Most white fishes are nice and soft and easy on the throat - a lovely flakey cod with stewed tomatoes? Steamed halibut with a lemon wine reduction? Easy to make - but pleasing to the palate.
Spanish rice with small pieces of chicken breast? Maybe if the rice was just a LITTTTTTTTLE overdone it would be easy on him?
I am sorry to hear this news about your dad and i really hope he has successful treatment and is feeling better soon.
