Unique Opportunity-Would love your support
I have the unique opportunity to lobby for more IF benefits at my firm. The heads of HR and I speak often and I became quite friendly with one who knows my story. The head of benefits in HR and I have been talking thanks to this very special introduction.
She has lobbied for more benefits at my firm, but unfortunately, has been turned down. She has met with peer companies to see what they offer, and has discovered that our firm has substandard infertility benefits. The insurance companies have provided that data as well.
I told her I might be able to provide unique individual perspective to back up her data.
Well ladies, here is your chance to tell me your story if you want to participate. The reward will be possibly changing the benefits at my firm to be competitive with peer companies, and possibly changing how insurance companies view IF coverage.
As a firm in 2010 we are changing from Caremark to ExpressScripts (not sure if that's better) but analysis has shown it to be cheaper. Maybe if Caremark loses enough business they will wise up about the prices they charge for IVF meds. YAY!
If large companies like mine can change the way they do business with insurance companies it may change the face of IF coverage for many women who have to turn to ART. Of course the individual benefit for me would be better but I think there is a much bigger story here.
Here's what I'm looking to provide to her when I meet with her next: 1. Coverage levels-what’s covered what’s not. How much?
2. Surprises in coverage: ie: you thought you had no IF coverage and found out your meds were covered. Or, thought you were covered for IUI, IVF and you weren’t.
3.Firm you work for (if you’re willing to tell)
4. How large is your company?
5. Insurance company/Pharmacy company ie: caremark
6. What extremes did you have to go through to get covered, get your meds, get loans, grants..etc. 7. What doctor/clinic you went/go to
8. How many cycles of IVF or IUI with meds or without.
As an example of what I hope to present, I will cite a story I know.
She works for UBS 50,000 employees Cigna/ExpressScripts 4 cycles completely covered (4 cycles was the lifetime max) Meds completely covered No surprises, no issues..everything covered ..yeah, extremely jealous. ;) Cornell
Please FM me or if it’s easier I can provide my email address for ease of communication.
Lastly, none of your personal info will be used. No names, ages..etc..This is merely market research that I’m personally putting together. Whatever info you don’t want to provide is ok too. Anything is helpful.
I think I have a budding new career ahead of me.
Thank you so much for your anticipated help!

Wish I could help you but I don't think my story would help since we are in the "small business" category and thus offered different insurance riders. (or should I say, NOT offered additional riders).

your story is actually quite compelling since it's Oxford. From what you told me things were covered that you didn't think were.
