Princess Cruise line

If you have taken one of their cruises to Bermuda/Bahamas/Caribbean or anywhere else please let me know your thoughts on food, service, ships, excursions...

Re: Princess Cruise line

We went on a Princess cruise 2 years ago....from San Diego to Mexico and LOVED it! We are going on our 2nd cruise this spring. this time through the Panama Canal for 10 days.

I went on a Carnival cruise years ago and HATED it. IMO Princess is 1000% better.

Re: Princess Cruise line

We took Princess to the Caribbean about a year and a half ago and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The service was top notch, the boat and it's amenities were great.......

Gotta say, the food wasn't the best food I've ever had, (and when I say that, I'm thinking Prime in Huntington is the BESTChat Icon ) but it was still delicious!!!!!!! We had absolutely no complains about the food, and we dined in the formal dining rooms and the buffets..... they were all great and there were so many options.

One thing we did which worked out well was bought a bottle of wine and they stored if for us and we used it during our meals. It's a much better deal to do that than buy a glass at every meal.

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Princess 10000 times over and over..... We loved it!

ETA: To answer your question about the excursions... DH and I are pretty laid back and not the athletic type, and there were excursions that we really enjoyed. I was afraid there would be primarily excursions best suited for the more adventurous type but there was something for everyone..... from trips to the beach.. to bus tours.... to horsebackriding at the beach.... everyone can find something!!

Re: Princess Cruise line

We did the Emerald Princess in Europe (but they spend the other half of the year in the Caribbean) and I thought it was awesome. The ship is huge, but I didn't feel overwhelmed and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend. I've also cruised NCL and Carnival and I would 100% recommend Princess over both of them.

Re: Princess Cruise line

We took a Princess cruise 3 years ago. It was my first and only cruise so far, so I can't really compare it to any other cruiselines, but the food was SPECTACULAR, the service was excellent, the ship was very nice, and the excursions were right on par with what the other lines were offering (we did some comparison shopping before booking).

Re: Princess Cruise line

I'm so glad you asked this! DH & I were planning a cruise for January and we've done Royal Caribbean, Carnival, NCL and Holland- NCL is by far our favorite so we were unsure of Princess

Re: Princess Cruise line

I have been on :
Crown Princess
Thiatian Princess ( I think they changed the name).
Carribbean Princess (2x)
Dawn Princess

I love Princess cruises. However, the Carribbean Princess is a nice boat, but the air conditioning flucuates. Both times I/We had issues on this boat, and both times, we had to have them take the cover off the air conditoning thing in the room and readjust it. This was after having a hard time getting them to do it, but they did and the air in our room was fine after that- freezing... LOL . We are not into alot of athletic things, but we do city tours, museums, etc w/ the shore excursions. the food is good, not Ruth Chris' steakhouse, but very good. I really enjoy a princess cruise. HTH Feel free to FM mail me.
