It's not sciatica
I finally have an answer to the cause of my excrutiating back pain. After going for physical therapy twice this week, a chiropractor, and a massage therapist, I have learned that the body produces a hormone that lets your ligaments relax to allow for childbirth. Well apparently one side of my pelvis has relaxed more than the other, causing it to shift, which is resulting in my back and everything else being thrown out of alignment.
None of these treatments have given me any relief unfortunately. The only thing that helps is to be lying in bed with a pillow between my knees. Of course I can't do this until the baby comes, as I am still working, and there is just too much to do around my house. I'm really considering getting a cleaning lady a couple of times just to help me out.
This hormone is the same thing that causes women's feet to "grow" in size during the end of pregnancy. Some women's feet never go back to their original size because of this hormone. I really hope things either catch up on both sides soon or at least go back after giving birth. I can't imagine this being something I will have to deal with for a long time after the baby is born.
Until things loosen up all around or the baby is born, I just look like a pregnant weeble wobble with a limp!!

Re: It's not sciatica
I had some REALLY bad problems with my tailbone after my sons birth and after many visits with physical therapists, and Drs. it was basically attributed to the hormome and one Dr. even told me if I had another child it would probably go back and the pain would be gone... guess what!! after my daughter its GONE!

Re: It's not sciatica
I had what I thought was really bad sciatica during my pregnancy and now I have a lot of lower back pain. I thought I had reinjured an old back injury when I fell a few months ago but it only got worse then, it was still something ongoing before that. I wonder if that's what's happening with me. Thanks for this info and I hope you feel better soon!!!!!

Re: It's not sciatica
I went through both...back pain and big feet. Sadly I still have both. A couple of weeks ago it was so bad I was back at the doctor getting adjusted and pain pills.

Re: It's not sciatica
Speak to your OB. He/she may allow you to stop working earlier to help relief some of the pain.
