Empty Follicle Syndrome

Hi Ladies-
Just looking for any advice/experience with this... I had my ER today and my follicles were empty. They only took from one ovary, so we have one more change to re-trigger and retrieve on Wednesday. If you know anything about it, please let me know!!

I am so sorry wasn't successful. I hope it works after the retrigger!!! The doctor didn't tell you anything today? I would definitely speak with your doctor to understand what happened.

Thanks :) I've actually been on the phone with my dr the entire afternoon... he says that this is rare and random in patients like me and that there's no reason to think it would happen next time. I'm just trying to wrap my head around it... always something new to take into account...

Check the SIRM web site. I remember seeing something about this and Dr. Sher feeling that there is no such thing as an "empty" follicle but that the eggs can be "stuck" in the follicle instead. Hopefully the re-triggering will do the trick!!

When this happened to my daughter Dr.B. thought maybe the hcg shot was not good or was not given at the right time. I think most dr.think maybe its just a fluk or the eggs are immuture. Good Luck hope it all works out for you!

Thanks ladies!! He thinks the Lupron just didn't work... stupid lupron!! We retriggered last night with HCG and go back tomorrow hoping that the last ovary has some mature eggs for us.
