Is there a kitten "season"?
After losing both of our cats to cancer over the last year, we're desperate for some new kitties! The only problem is that I have way too much going on in my life right now and just can't dedicate the amount of time needed to new kittens (we're planning on getting 2). I want to wait until life calms down a bit and I have my weekends back to spend time with them. That might not be until the end of October. Will it be impossible to find kittens then?

Re: Is there a kitten "season"?
Kitten season is May-October, from what I was told.
I got my male cat in the month of June and there were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY kittens!!!!!!!!!! It was like kitten overload!!
When I got my female cat in the month of March, we were lucky that her and her 2 sisters were brought there that morning! They were the only ones!! But, she is perfect so we got really lucky!
That said, I think since the end of October is the tail end of kitten season, there would still be a decent selection! Much more than, say.... February, for example.
Hope that helps! Good luck!!!

Re: Is there a kitten "season"?
I used to think there was, but lately I have been seeing kittens all year round at Petco for adoption. I think there are just SO many strays out there that no matter when you go you'll find some.
I highly recommend Heart and Soul -they display their rescued cats and kittens at Petco stores- and they always seem to have liters of baby cats for adoption. They were wonderful when we were looking to adopt and our cats are the best things ever!

Thanks, your reponses don't make it sound impossible. Even if we have to wit a few weeks once we start looking, that would be ok.
