I am having another couple over for dinner and making linguini with clams


What are some good sides?

Apps- how about fresh mozz with tomatoes, sliced with some Olive oil & balsamic drizzled on it.

Sides--- I would do a nice garlic bread. I make own, very simple. Just get a nice long loaf of bread, slice it length wise, put some butter and some garlic and bake in the oven untl crispy.

Also, a nice veggie- like a broccoli or peas & mushrooms, spinach.

You could make an antipasti - with some proscuitto, roasted red peppers (you can make or buy jarred) - fresh mozz, marinated mushrooms, olives, etc. Just put on a tray and have some crostini (bought or made) to dip.

When I make garlic bread, I use a combo of butter and olive oil. Also, salt and pepper the bread. Then do the garlic and I sprinkle onion powder too - soooo yummy!

A tossed green salad is a good side too. You could make it more "italian" by doing a baby spinach salad and adding some of those picked veggie things you can buy in a jar.
