Depends on your doctor. I go by what my said and he said no tunafish, no sushi and 4 types of fish i have never even heard of (tilefish, shark and 2 others).

I eat cold cuts every day and also artificial sweetners. My doctor said everything else in moderation is fine.

It really depends on your doctor. Here is my list:

No Lg fish like mackerel, Tuna, Swordfish, etc...because of mercury levels.

Other seafood, limited to 12 oz a week

No uncooked or raw food like sushi or raw clams.

All chopped meat has to be cooked to Med. Well - no pink inside

Coldcuts....good to eat after sterlizing them which you do by heating in the microwave - about 30 seconds for a 1/2 lb

No soft cheeses made out of unpasturized milk or dairy products other then that, soft cheeses are fine.

ETA: No saccharine ( like Sweet n' Low) but other sweetners are fine.

Re: What are the big NO-NO's regarding food?

It is unbelievable how it varies from doctor to doctor....

my list:
no cold cuts (unless cooked- like pan fried bologna- um- no thanks)
No brie, fresh mozz or blue cheese- pretty much all other cheese OK.
No diet sodas
One 8 ounce coffee/caffeine a day- that's it.
no raw fish
no big fish- swordfish, etc.
Tuna- limit to one serving twice a week (I haven't eaten any so far- i sort of tuna-ed myself out before getting pg).
as far as other fish- OK in moderation (1 or 2 times a week)- shellfish, salmon, etc.

My doctor told me as far as seafood goes, there are only 4 that you can't eat and she named them and I never heard of any of them.

Re: What are the big NO-NO's regarding food?

My doctor gave me a list of medications and foods that she didn't want me eating. YOu might want to ask your dr if they have anything like that.

Re: What are the big NO-NO's regarding food?

My doc said I can eat almost everything as long as it is cooked. Fish is VERY good for you (except the big fish as mentioned above). Also, he said regarding Salmon to only eat Wild Salmon, not Farm Raised. Too much mercury in Farm raised.
He is OK with me drinking coffee (in moderation). Limit my carbs (white flour) as they are empty calories.
Oh and no soft cheese (feta, fresh mozz, bleu, etc). Other cheeses are very good for you though!
