Trying out a new vet

This Sunday we will have Brinkley for exactly one year, I can't believe it's been so long!

We have received excellent medical care with our current vet but have been on the lookout for a more personable experience.

After reading so much about Town Line Medical Group in Hauppauge, I decided to make an appointment. Brinkley is due for 2 shots next month so I thought it would be a good time to go in and check the place out, and talk about some of my concerns.

My appt is next Friday with Dr. Kothari and although I usually get somewhat anxious about vet visits, I'm actually looking forward to this one! If their website is any indication, they really seem to be a very caring office.

I'll update if anyone is interested! Chat Icon

Re: Trying out a new vet

I think I mentioned it in a previous FM or post, but we wound up going with Towne Line and we are VERY happy with them.

When we took Amber she saw Dr. Gurtman so he is who I harass - I mean, email - all the time (I'm a worrier!). My initial contact with them was an email to both doctors though and they both responded, promptly, even at night.

They offer training classes too and we registered Amber for the "intermediate" one, which started this past Tuesday. She is great and pretty well trained but SO badly distracted when other dogs are around (she loves making friends) that this is the perfect program for her.

We got their early because we had to pick up a refill of her medicine, so we spent some time watching the doctors and staff interact with each other, the dogs, etc. I finally got to meet Dr. Gurtman in person too (since my husband was the one who took Amber to her appointment). Dr. Kothari was there as well and also very nice.

I could not be happier with the decision to bring our dog there. My parents' dog is 14 years old and has been going to the same vet since he was a puppy but the way I rave about ours my mom is considering switching!

I am sure you - and Brinkley! - will be happy!
