so on the Baby Story ...
they always show the doctor throwing the baby onto the mothers chest as soon as he/she is born so this is what i am expecting. but when i talked to my last 2 friends that gave birth, they said the doctor didn't do that, they took the baby to get cleaned up and it was like 30 mins after before they got to see their little one.
did everyone get to hold their baby instantly??

They put Michael on my chest right away and started to clean him while he was on me then they took him and finished the cleaning and swaddled him and gave him back again.

My hospital will gives the mom the option to have the baby on their chest immediately after birth or not. I plan on having her on mine, they then will take her and clean her up.

hmm I remember both times at NSUH they gave me the baby within about 5 minutes. They sucked the stuff out of his mouth and then wrapped him and gave him to me.
I only held them for about 5 minutes and then they took them away from me. It was just enough time for a few kisses.
