Water on runs!

When you girls are running do you bring a bottle of water with you or do you stop somewhere on the way! I have been just stopping places while I am on my runs but a few weeks ago I was doing the jones beach path and I was dying!

If I am running more than 10 miles I wear a fuel belt. On runs over 15 miles I have to stop and refill the water bottles at least once.

This morning I ran 7 and was very thirsty at the end but was able to deal with it. I also drink a lot the evening before my runs so I am well hydrated when I wake up and go.

I also run with a fuel belt starting at 10 or 12. 16+ I run with a fuel belt and 20 oz water in my hand (belt bottles are gatorade) and I ditch it when empty - and I usually try to stop at sprinklers to fill up belt bottles.

btwn 8-12, I may just take a 12 oz bottle with me.

rule of thumb is if you are running for longer than an hour you need to take in fluids.

i read that sometimes people go out the night before and leave water bottles along their course.

I always bring water, even on my short runs. I get very thirsty and I sweat a lot. I use a pouch with the single water bottle holder in the back.

I only take if I will be out more than an hour or if it is really hot out like in the summer time.

I have a lumbar waist pack with a water bottle for longer runs. I also like to sprinkle a bit of sport drink powder in it as well.
