Chopped.
Chopped is my favorite Food Network show. I'm addicted. They start with 4 chefs, give them a basket of mystery ingredients and tell them to make an entree - the worst one gets chopped and the other 3 move onto new ingredients for an entree.. one more goes and the final 2 get new ingredients for dessert.
Anyway.. there is a point. I have to make dinner tonight. I have to use the chicken sausage I took out last night and forgot about. I would also like to use the tomatoes that I bought last week. I do not want to make pasta because I had that last night. I have a pretty well stocked pantry but I can't think of anything to do with this sausage today. I'm just... fllllllllllllllllllah,
So.. what should I make?

Re: Chopped.
love that show!
okay maybe sausage and peppers on hoagie rolls?
something with tomatoes as a side dish (i'm so helpful )
or
do you have spinach? i like to do grill the sausages, tomatoes, and onions on the grill pan... then put that over spinach (let it get slightly wilted by the hot items) and then a grainy mustard vinaigrette...

Re: Chopped.
sausage stew? throw in some potatoes and green beans. serve with crusty bread.
grilled chicken sausages with couscous (chopped tomatoes and other veggies thrown in)
homemade french bread pizza
chakchouka 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 pound hot Italian sausages, cut into 1-inch lengths 2 medium-size red-skinned potatoes, unpeeled, cut into 1/2-inch pieces 2 medium onions, chopped 2 green bell peppers, chopped 1 jalapeño chili, chopped 4 medium tomatoes, seeded, chopped 1/2 cup water 6 eggs
Heat oil in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausages, potatoes, onions, bell peppers and chili and sauté until vegetables begin to soften, about 10 minutes. Add tomatoes and 1/2 cup water and bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium, cover skillet and simmer until vegetables are tender and sausage is cooked through, about 15 minutes. Uncover skillet; simmer until sauce is thick, about 8 minutes. One at a time, crack eggshells and drop eggs onto sausage mixture, spacing evenly. Cover and cook until egg whites are set and yolks still feel soft to touch, about 4 minutes. Serve immediately.
PS I love that show. dh is perpetually annoyed by the chick chef with the eyebrows she is UBER critical!

Re: Chopped.
I like Chopped but Ted Allen is such a bad actor. He was the same way with that other mythbusters rip off show. He tries to be all dramatic and ends up being annoying Can't help you with your meal, sorry

It turned out it WAS not sausage. It was weird chicken patties that I thought were sausage patties.
I seasoned it with sage, salt, pepper and a little maple syrup. Added chopped onions and chopped apples. Then I cut up some potatoes into little bitty squares and got them crispy and tossed them in so it was kind of like a breakfast hash.
I poached some eggs, toasted some whole grain muffins and served it as breakfast for dinner!
