Review of Valentin Imperial Maya- Rivera Maya Mexico
wow! We had the best time ever- this place made any other resort we have been to look like a motel 6
This hotel just opened about 8 months ago and you would never know it by seeing how they operate
From the minute we got there we were treated very well
we got a tour of the place on our way to our room- we were in building 1- which was close to everything- the pool and the resturants
For Breakfast you have a choice of 2 buffets- at the main one they are make omlettes and creps on the spot for you- but everything else is super fresh
You can also get room service 24 hours a day (included)
Lunch- 2 options- buffet by the pool- or the main buffet- both were great- I liked the main one better- they made fresh fajitas daily (you can also get plastic plates and eat by the pool)
Also the steak- made to your order- was out of this world- my Boyfriend ate 3 of them out first day and loved every one of them
Dinner- There are at least 5 to 6 places to eat dinner daily- it rotates - you get a news letter under your door daily letting you know what will be open the next night
(no buffet for dinner)
We had the Japanese, Mexcian, french, italian, and the lobster pot which was seafood
we also went to the Mexican buffet they had on Saturday night- which was great as well
Bars- there are 2 pool bars and at least 6 other bars around the resort- all name brand stuff and the drinks were good and strong
waitress service was also available
Spa- We had a $100 spa credit and we used it for a couples massage on the beach- it was an additonal $150 and worth every penny!
I also had a polish change at the spa- took forever- but very nice
Staff- was amazing, We bought $200 in ones and $5 and we used it all- I was suprised by the amount of people that didn't tip....but the staff works really hard and I heard they only make $3 a day- so a $5 tip for great service goes along way for them
Pool- We never left the pool during the day- they had chairs IN the pool and they were easy to get (unlike the beach where people got up at 6am to reserve chairs)
We met a lot of nice people and just hung out and drank at the pool
Pool Floats- the hotel has blue floats and they are a hot comodity- we ended up buying our own for $11 and the activties center blew it up for us- it was totally worth it
Tours- we didn't do too much-
but we did the bar hopper and horse back riding on the beach
The bar hopper took us to 3 bars in playa del carmin- it was fun- but not as fun as when we just went to Coco Bongo (a vegas type show and disco- they will be asking every day who wants to go - it's $60 each and that included a van to and from and drinks- if you want to go find JJ he is awesome)
Horse back riding on the beach was also great- about $80 each with transportation- go in the am - it was SO HOT
For what we paid- this place was a steal....We would go back in a heartbeat
10 days was just enough- but I could have stayed longer

I didn't get to see your pics yet but was it buggy? Did you have to bring a lot of bug spray?

I didn't get to see your pics yet but was it buggy? Did you have to bring a lot of bug spray?
I forgot- YES bring bug spray- you will need it at night
and bring lotion and conditioner- they only give you shampoo, soap (which is awesome) and shower gel
We had a great time- everyone we spoke to was saying the same thing- I met about 25 people and not 1 person had a negaitive thing to say about anything there
