Help!
We had our carpets pulled up and floors refinished in our new house and came home from vacation today to find HUGE black stains in every room. When I called last week for updates, nobody mentioned ANY issues with the wood. The sanding is so sloppy you can see lines where they stopped. We're beside ourselves because we're supposed to move Tues but now have to get them fixed and now everything has to be pushed back. Has anyone had a similar issue when they pulled up their carpet? Can this be fixed? The floor is like 90yrs old but is there something that can be done to remove such black spots? We haven't paid them yet but obviously they can't leave our floors like this and expect to be paid right?
ETA: I used Harris Floors based on recs on here and only today found some horrible reviews. If anyone has any experience resolving issues with them, I would greatly appreciate it!

Re: Help!
The black stains are probably water damage, right? I'm not sure that can be fixed. Sounds like by refinishing them they already sanded them down. I'm surprised they didn't tell you that they wouldn't look perfect.

That was one thought we had except that there are clearly places they just stopped sanding so I can't tell if it's all just shoddy work. I'm so angry because they didnt mention a WORD about anything when I spoke with them multiple times last week. They look so bad that I would have said stop working on them, paid for what had been done that far and carpeted over. Now this sets our entire moving date back
