So DH and I made a big decision

For the past 2.5 years we've either been trying to have a baby, or had a baby and it's taken it's toll on the both of us.

We've decided that IVF is the way for us, but we've also decided to take a break "from the madness" and concentrate on us for a change. Had we known none of them were going to work, we would have waited on the IUI's and gone right to IVF this past summer, but my want to do everything "now" overpowerd all of that, and what's done is done.

God really did showed me a lot this week, and the major thing was that it's not IF, it is just a matter of WHEN we're going to have another baby, and I found myself starting to doubt that over the past few weeks and was starting to become a crazy woman. When I finished my post a few days ago I just knew that the IUI's were done. DH and I had a real heart to heart last night and realized that we both want another child and are more than willing to wait a few months to save and do IVF.

We're giving ourselves 6 months to a year to save, get healthier (I've gained so much weight this past year it's sad) and focus on being a family of three for a change. Not a family of three trying to get a fourth.

Well, I guess that's about it for now.

One more thing. I was given lots of meds and need to go thru them to see what I'm not going to keep as some expire soon, so I will make a list and post it to see if I can help anybody out as much as you lovely ladies have helped me.

Its good that you guys talked about it and came to a joint decision. I wish you all the best in taking care of yourselves and lots of luck when you decide the time is right for you and your DH to begin again.

I know exactly how you feel --we've only been married a little over a year and it has been all about having a baby.
I admire you for taking the time to you need to get back on track.

Suzy, it really helps to have piece of mind and be on the same page with each other in regard to having a child. I shouldn't even say "helps" as much as it is critical. When DH and I first learned that we would need assistance to conceive, it was a real blow to the both of us. We were headed to points unknown, but like you, we never said "if," we ALWAYS said "when" and THAT took a lot of mental strength.

Even though we never got as far as IVF, we DID prepare for it when DH put me on his insurance during open enrollment(I have my own) because HIS covers IVF and mine does not. We were preparing to go the distance. Fortunately, my next cycle IUI cycle resulted in the pregnancy that gave us Abby.

I love that you have faith in the process. I admire your fortitude and I will always keep looking for your next BFP because with the strength you've already shown you have, it WILL happen for you. I believe that with all of my heart. G-d bless you.

It's the most at peace I've been in months.

I just hope that in a few months time when we are ready for the next step that I'm the only one on this board.

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling at peace. Enjoy the next few IF-free months...I will tell you that the break I took was the best decision we ever made. I was so relaxed when we finally did our IVF cycle.

Sounds great to me! It's always a good thing to step back and look at the big picture. It is so easy to get caught up in all of this - this time to focus on the family you have now will help recharge you for your future plans
