Need some help...
Actually it is a couple of questions...
- Has anyone put their dog on a diet and it has been successful?? If so, can you tell me what you did?
- Has anyone brought their dog to an eye doctor? If so, any recommendations?
- Has anyone dog had lumps and has had them aspirated to find out what exactly is going on? If so, how much were you charged and what was the outcome??
Thank for you help...any advice would be appreciated...thanks

Re: Need some help...
-No advice on the diet
-We didn't take the dog to an eye doctor specifically, but we did take him to the vet for an eye problem, and the vet was able to diagnose it (conjunctivitis) and prescribe an eye ointment right there.
-We didn't, but a friend of mine did, so I don't know how much it cost, but in their case it turned out to be cancer.
HTH...

Re: Need some help...
I took my previous dog to an eye doctor years ago. He is on Long Island and very well known in the pet community for eyes. His name was Dr. Sapienza.

Re: Need some help...
The only thing I've done on your list is put my dog on a diet. Simply, we increased his exercise and cut down his food amount and changed his treats.
He's a retriever so we played a lot of fetch, took longer walks, setup playdates with other dogs, went to dog parks and on hikes through the woods.
We decreased his food by 1/4 cup each week till we got a good amount. Total amount we were previously overfeeding was 3/4 cup! He's small for his type and only about 62 pounds now so we feed him 2 1/2 cups total per day.
We stopped giving him bagged treats because they're full of protein that makes them crazy. And a lot of other crap that they don't need and isn't good for them. We switched to snow peas, carrots, apple slices, and bananas.
Eventually when he got to a weight that his vet was happy with, we slowly added in the bagged treats here and there again. But his snacks are still always veggies and fruit. We might cut back a little in the winter when he's not as active.
I hope this helps! Good luck with it and let me know if I can help further.

Re: Need some help...
We did have lumps aspirated by our vet along with xrays and lab work to diagnosis cancer then we went to the oncologist who did the same tests again to diagnosis the cancer. Then we did 2.5 years of chemo. It was all very expensive.
Not knowing at the time but having gone thru it now I would do things a little different though to save some money.
We used the oncologist at LIV same place as Dr Sapienza on the service raod in plainview.
