Carpets
Where can I go to get carpet these days? Last time I bought (many years ago) I went to Home Depot. Where else is a good place. Plus, what's green in carpet? TIA

Re: Carpets
I would go to Lowe's. They had a special.....$39 for whole house installation. Not sure if it's still running though

$39. That's a great price.
They usually advertise for $139.

Re: Carpets
Mohawk http://www.mohawkflooring.com/carpeting/ has green carpeting. I have all the carpeting in my house using SmartStrand from them (Got it through HD, but other places sell it as well). SmartStrand is corn-based. Much less VOCs, so you don't have as much chemical "new carpet" smell. It's naturally stain resistant, so you don't need chemical treatments for stain resistance (like ScotchGuard). It's a very soft texture as well. Their EverStrand is made from recycled plastic bottles. I don't have this, but I've read about it, so that's another one to look at. Both of these types of carpets have numerous styles (berber, plush, frieze, etc) and tons of colors, so you're definitely not limited by going green.
