Hardwood Floors
We got our hardwood floors redone about 3 weeks ago - just wondering if it is too soon to clean them? Also, what do you use to clean them (they're high-gloss).

Re: Hardwood Floors
We just got ours done two months ago. We have extra coats of high gloss poly.
The guy who did them said vacuum, Dry Swifter, and only every few weeks a small amount of water, maybe a bit of vinegar added, sprits a microfiber mop and mop.
Water must be used very sparingly on hard wood and wiped up and dried immediately.
Regular dust and dirt is what causes the most damage in the long run.

Re: Hardwood Floors
I was using the wet swifer on mine and when I started using a cleaning lady she looked at me like I was crazy. Now I use the special hardwod cleaner on a wet rag on my hands and knees.

Re: Hardwood Floors
I use Target's "Method" Hardwood floor cleaner and a microfiber mop type thing.

Re: Hardwood Floors
I swiffer daily! Its the dirt on the floor that leads to scratches. DH mops once a week using Murphy's Oil soap, and he rinses too, even though it says you don't have too.
