Got a quote to trim our trees - I don't get the logic, see if you do...
We have 4 large oak trees and the quote was $900 to trim them. That's $225 per tree. We are considering taking one out entirely and he said the job would be $1800, so it's an extra $900 take out a tree except...we wouldn't be trimming the tree we are planning to remove so shouldn't it be $225 x 3 = $675 + $900 = $1575
I'm getting a couple more quotes anyway but what's up with the extra $325?

I don't think it's an extra 900. I think he was quoting you on trimming 3 trees and removing the one tree.
So the tree removal could be $1125.

i had a very large maple taken down recently we were chared 700 cash. but price also goes up depending on how hard it may be to access the tree

I paid 1400 to have 14 trees taken down. Two very large maples, and a bunch of large pine trees.
I had about 7 quotes come in, and I used them against each other to get the best price. This was in the winter, but still.
Try T&M, I used their price to get another company to competitively reduce their price.

I have it in writing so there was def no mistake - $900 to trim the 4 trees, $1800 to trim 3, take down 1. I don't so much have an issue with the $900 to take down the tree, although I will get more quotes. I just don't get the logic, maybe he forgot to remove the cost of trimming one when he quoted the price.

Did they break it down to say that the tree removal was 900? If not, that means that removing it is more than 900.

I'm going to call them bc I'm not getting it...but I'm not down for paying $1800 anyway, KWIM? I'll leave the tree in honestly if it's going to be that much.

We had two VERY large oak trees removed, and two other large oak trees trimmed and we paid 1500
