how much would you bring?
going to Rivera maya for 9 days
all inclusive- so I was going to bring $200 in small bills...
I have $30 in pesos from the last time I went
we plan on doing at least 2 excursions - figure $80 each so that's $320 -$400

I would bring the $200 for tips and then charge the excursions- you'll get a better exchange rate.

Re: how much would you bring?
that's not a bad idea- I was going to bring a card as well
maybe I will bring less cash- $500 total and the card
we want to go into town a night or 2- the hotel arranges that as well- but I am sure we will need extra $$$

When we go in 3 weeks we're bring $200-$250 for tips and then charging any excursions. We'll also bring another $150-$200 for miscellanous purchases just in case.

Re: how much would you bring?
We were just in the Rivera Maya for 6 weeks. I think it is better to pay for excursions in cash as many places charge an international fee to use your credit card. I guess if you are only booking through your resort though then the credit card might be a better option. We didn't stay at a resort and many of the places we booked with recommended cash so that you don't have to pay the additional fees.

Re: how much would you bring?
We just came back from Mexico last month. I brought $400 for Souvineers and excursions, in that amount $75 were in singles for tips.
We ended up charging the excursion to my credit card, and brought money home with us

Re: how much would you bring?
We brought $200 on our all-inclusive trip, did one excursion and still came home with about $75.
We spent most of the money on food at the airport coming and going. (Ate at a restaurant waiting to come home).
I'd say bring a cc for excursions.

I would do this. We generally bring $500 (between myself and DH) for 4 nights, so I think $500 per person for 9 days is good. I would also charge any trips.
