Re: Aja
Hugs to both of you! I know how trying it is. Shortly after we moved Miranda to her crib she dropped her 11pm and 5am feedings. It was around the same time we started giving her meats at dinner. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

Re: Aja
I'm trying not to complain because he's doing SO well w/ naps during the day -nighttime is either
go to bed between 7:30-8 waking at 12:30 & 4:30 then up @ 7
or
go to bed between 7:30-8 waking at 10:30 , 1:30 & 5:30 up at 6:30
give or take a few minutes.
He's still pretty much EBF (some formula in his cereal and a formula bottle maybe 1x/wk) I haven't started meat yet...maybe I should...
Aja - is he in his crib or your bed? Jen - thx - I'm just not ready for the crib thing yet

Danielle believe me I totally get the not being ready for the crib thing. You know I am not a crib pusher For us the problem was no one was getting any sleep whatsoever. She was waking every hour or two. I think she is a ligth sleeper so if DH or I moved or made a noise she woke up. I tried it on a whim and it worked. Believe me, if we were all sleeping well she would still be in with us for sure.

Re: Aja
I am definately not going to try and talk anyone into moving thier babies out of thier beds and into cribs because I know I miss her terribly at night when she is in her own room ... but ... as soon as we moved her into the crib she started sleeping through the night also.

Re: Aja
How long did it take for them to adjust?? He'll wake up about an hour after I put him in and just cry and I am not into the whole CIO thing - for a few sure but not for long...

Re: Aja
Honestly within a day or two Emily was perfectly fine sleeping in her crib. It wasn't a difficult adjustment for us. That's exactly why I can't try to talk anyone into it also -- because it was easy for us but I know it wasn't easy for everyone.

Honestly no time at all but we had a pretty set bedtime routine that took place in our room and we just moved it to her room. She already knew how to put herself to sleep. Of course she's a baby so nothing is 100% all the time. Lately she has been crying as soon as I put her in the crib. I give her about a minute (literally) of fussing and if she settles down I leave her be and if she keeps crying I go in and rock her or bounce her to sleep. I don't care what anyone says...if my baby is crying she needs something even if it is just the reassurance of me holding her. I don't feel like its a bad habit because if all is well with her she can put herself to sleep just fine.
Danielle when you're ready why not just try it one night (we actually started with bedtime then naps). If he cries then you just go back to what you are doing. That's what I told myself...I am just trying this to see if it works. If it doesn't then she'll keep sleeping with us. I had no plans of forcing her to sleep in the crib

You put Miranda in asleep or awake? He puts himself to sleep to but I think it's when he doesn't see me that he freaks in the crib...

I put her in awake 95% of the time. She has a few pacifiers and a noise machine (i play rain for her). She usually grabs a paci to **** on and plays with another until she falls off. Sometimes she sits in there and talks a while but usually at night she's asleep within minutes.
I think if Joseph can put himself to sleep you have a good shot of it working. If she's fussy I try to just leave her in the crib and rub her head or her belly and just talk to her a little bit. If she is still crying thats when I rock or bounce her to sleep.

Re: Aja
jcndd-he is in his crib but it is in our room. Honestly I can't imagine leaving him alone at night yet. I know it's wierd but I like watching his sleep I sleep better. We are moving soon and he will have his own room I don't know how I will deal with it, and the night feedings if I have to get up and go to another room.
Joseph's schedule is exactly like my ds. He takes like 3-4 long naps every day and falls asleep (if we are home) at 8-8:30.
He is a happy little owl though during the day he is very very social and happy! WE should all make nightime playdates!

Re: Aja
Alyson has just dropped her middle of the night feedings (she was waking anywhere between 2-4:30am for a full bottle and right back to sleep).
Last night she had her last bottle around 7/7:30pm, and I put her in her crib, drowsy around 9pm. She was asleep around 9:25pm. She fusses here and there when she loses her pacifier, so we put it back in her mouth. She really fussed around 11:30 or so and we brought her into our bed and she slept till 7am. The previous 2 nights she had her last bottle around 8/8:30 and went till 6:30am and 7am respectively, but in our bed (we had houseguests and I didn't want them to be woken up).
Soooo....while we're all getting some NICE sleep, she's back in our bed.
What can I do to get her to do it in her crib? I know part of it is readjusting from being out of town and letting her sleep in the hotel bed with us.

I think if you really want her back in your crib you have to commit to not bringing her into your bed. It may mean some sleepless nights for you of having to get up and console her in her crib/room but I'm sure she'll get the hang of it again. If Miranda has a bad night I just keep going into her. Last night I actually had to let her nurse and rock her back to sleep about 4am. I haven't had to do that in weeks but as tired as I was I didn't want to bring her into bed with us because if we get into that habit again none of us will be getting any sleep. Soooooo if you really don't want her in you bed anymore stick to your guns for a few nights and you should be back to normal.

Have you tried the humidifier for Joseph? I also spray is nose with saline before he goes to bed becuase our coop is so hot and stuffy he is always congested.
