NYC Hotel Recomendation?
Looking to stay one night in NYC in Sept to do some exploring and then go for a fab meal. What area of NYC is best to stay in and do you have any recommendations for hotels and restaurants? Thanks!

It really depends on what neighborhood you want to stay in. One of my favs is W Union Square. Lots of shopping around there, and lots of subway lines so it's convenient. I also happen to like Olives, a restaurant in there. They also have a farmer's market in Union Square on the weekends (can't remember what day).

it does depend on what you're looking for but I always stay at the Hilton on 6th and 53rd and have always been happy.
They also allow for parking and no charge for in/out access should you want to venture out of NYC.

We like the Empire Hotel near Lincoln Center.
Dh's cousin is a chef at an awesome restaurant called Ssam Bar on 2nd and 13th. It has awesome food and a really fun atmosphere. Its one of our favorite places ever.

Re: NYC Hotel Recomendation?
I would of recommended Union Square too and to stay at the W Hotel.
I would also suggest Hyatt Grand Central. IT is centrally located and you have the subway right there. It is a few blocks away from Times Square ( and you wont have to deal with all the crowds in Time Square) There are a lot of great shops right nearby there...otherwise you are still walking distance to 5th ave and see all the sites and walk to central park.
Also, the train to Union Square, Soho, and Chinatown from the Hyatt is only 5-10 minutes away ( and the subway is literally right under the hotel.)
As for restaurants...there are so many I love! I live here so i have quite a few favs.
If you want something in the Timesquare/Midtown area, than these are my suggestions.
They are both Pan Asian- Rubyfoos- http://www.brguestrestaurants.com/restaurants/ruby_foos_times_square/menu.php ChinaGrill- http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/china-grill/
If you go to Union Square area, I would go to dinner at
Blue Water Grill- http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/blue-water-grill/ or
Dos Caminos- http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/dos-caminos-park/
OR take a train down to LIttle Italy and there are dozens of wonderful Italian Restaurants and Pastry shops.
I Tre Merli- Italian http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/i-tre-merli/
http://www.ferrarabakery.com/- The best authentic Italian cookies and desserts!
Goodluck!
