Re: Garage sale help

for big ticket items, you could always look on craigslist or ebay and see what similar items are selling for.

Re: Garage sale help

we had one. we actually priced everything in 25 cent increments so we didn't have to have tones of change, other then dollars and quarters.

But as for the price, we figured out what we would pay for it, and then priced it a little less.

Sometimes people will offer you less, if they really want it. we always took whatever the offered. we were happy to get rid of all of it.

I actually went to quite a few with my MIL this year because she was looking for toys for her grand baby to keep at her house.
when things were priced to much, we never offered less, we walked away. I also hated when the garage sale "hosts" would try to become my friend, or push their stuff on us when they saw we were buying stuff of one type, in our situation toys. its uber annoying, so I would stay clear of doing that.
Signs ALWAYS draw people in. We would get a few off craigslist, and see a sign for another one and hit that one too. We made the mistake of advertising in the pennysaver, which cost a lot, and I don't think it really brought to many people in. Craigslist will get you a lot more people, and its free, I think.
