Running doesn't come easy to me.... so.........

is it still a good workout to put the tredmill at an incline (like anywhere from 7-10) and walk 'uphill' for as long as I can? (which now will be like 10 minutes lol)

What do you ladies think? Chat Icon I just get so sweaty and exerted from running 1//4 mile, it's sad!

Absolutely! But don't give up on the running. It take time to build up. Just try and increase your time running by a little bit each week. Ever consider trying couch to 5k?

I totally agree about it being worth it. Hal Higdon's website also has some tips for beginner's. When you're starting out, you do run/walk intervals and gradually build up from there. It can be frustrating when all you want to do is run but it's so worth it because it builds your endurance and helps condition your body to the extra stress running puts on your body.

When you do start running on the treadmill, put it an a 1-3% incline until you get your endurance up so you cut down on the risk of injury.

Don't give up! You can do it!Chat Icon

your moving.. your getting your heart pumping...your burning calories.. your doing GREATChat Icon

Im no Flo Jo but I do running intervals.. walk for min at 4.6 then sprint at 6.3 for 1 min .. walk at 4.5 for 1-2 min then sprint at 6.3 and so on. These bursts of intense running builds your endurance...I like you do incline @ like 12 at 4mph to for my butt!
Start slow and work your way up.. you can do this!!!!!

Thank you so much ladies for the advice! I love how everyone on here is so encouraging!! Chat Icon

I am starting to get back into the routine of getting myself inside the 4 walls of the gym, so hopefully I can keep that up long enough to REALLY develop a routine that can become a lifestyle change! Chat Icon

Keep in mind that it takes about 2-3 weeks to make anything part of your routine. You can do it! We've all be there before, some of us repeatedly!Chat Icon
