Malverne?

I read a few posts on here that had people talking positively about Malverne. Am I mistaken that it's not a great school district?

There are new construction homes that are West Hempstead with Malverne schools and they are affordable. I assumed affordability b/c it's not a great area, but maybe I'm wrong??

TIA for your opinions! :)

Re: Malverne?

I think the general opinion out there is that it's not a great school district, but some of the ladies on here who live in Malverne would say differently, so it's all subjective. Have you looked at Oceanside?

Re: Malverne?

My DH grew up in Malverne. He didnt mind the schools but many of the kids in town do go to catholic schools. The actual town is nice but bordering towns go to the Malverne schools.

They do have a good band/music program and I believe last year one of the teachers at the HS won some award for teaching.

Malverne is a great area and it being affordable does not equal a bad area. Everyone's affordablility is different.

The elementary and middle schools rate very high. Esp on those websites that everyone always tells people to look at. The HS doesn't rate as high as others around.

It is a very diverse district. There are several towns that go to Malverne SD.

I love it here but most people in this town do send their child to private school. And I just found out that the town does pay for your books and bussing if you choose to go to private school. There is actually a very good catholic school right in Malverne:)

I also like West Hempstead but that town is really big!! I saw your other postChat Icon It depends on where in W Hempstead you are looking.
