Is anyone cooking French tomorrow night
in honor of Julia Child's 97th bday?
i am thinking about it. maybe a simple steak au poivre with salad.
Happy Birthday to the first real celebrity chef!!!! to you, Julia, in your fabu kitchen in the sky!

Julia Child! I love her. I love that she never took herself so seriously and how she would laugh and make a mess and not get flustered. If it wasn't for reading Julia Child I would still suck at making omelettes and I never would have tried a souffle.
I actually made a JC inspired roasted chicken on Monday. It was amazing.
I don't often pull down my copy of Mastering the Art.. but I will do so tomorrow after I see the matinee of Julie & Julia. I have heard that I will crave Boeuf A La Bourguignonne again - so I will be armed and ready to make that.
Happy Birthday Julia! I hope you are making ambrosia with the Heavenly Chefs!

I decided to go full on French! I made Chicken with a wine cream sauce, buttered asparagus tips, parsley potatoes, salad with French vinegariette and pan toasted French Bread topped with broiled tomatoes. I can feel my arteries hardening as we speak
